Oud Artist
He serves as an oud artist in the State Classical Turkish Music Choir under the Ministry of Culture.
Alper Taş was born in 1977 in Ankara. He completed his primary, middle, and high school education in Ankara and his university studies in Eskişehir. Alongside his formal education, he continued his music training, starting with the mandolin at the age of 9 and kanun lessons at 12. At the age of 15, he became interested in the oud.
After completing his university education, he joined the TRT Youth Choir. During this period, he took oud lessons for a short time and, in 2002, won the TRT Ankara Radio auditions in first place. Until 2007, he participated in numerous live and recorded programs. During the same years, he conducted several choirs, including the Ankara Sanatorium Hospital Turkish Music Choir, Emlak Bank Choir, and Aytaş Sufi Music Choir. He also worked as a music teacher at the Ministry of Energy kindergarten and served as a cultural advisor for Ahmet Yesevi University.
In 2007, he passed the Ministry of Culture exam and began working as an oud artist in the Bursa State Classical Turkish Music Choir. Currently, he continues his career as an oud artist in the Ankara State Classical Turkish Music Choir. He has one son and possesses intermediate proficiency in English and German.
